The cottage sets on Mullet Lake, in northern Michigan, near Petosky, Gaylord, Indian River and Cheybogan, a few miles from the famous Mackinaw Bridge. There are paths through the forest to walk, the towns, just named,, have shopping till you drop and antiques to mull over to buy, even a casino to try your luck at. Dinning on the fresh fish from the great lakes is a treat. So bring a good book for a rainy day and renew yourself for what has to be done at home.
This was a trip I just took with three friends. We spent a lot of time talking about good times and bad, telling funny stories about growing older and laughing, laughing, laughing. We are all widows and helping each other through the time we have left. At sunset we have our gin martini's, then dinner either in or out, at one of the fine dinning restaurants in the area, then we watch Ted Turner movies on the TV. I know Ted Turner movies are old, but so are we and we do recognize the actors and actress's. We laugh and comment on how we enjoyed seeing the movie when it first came out.
We did have a rainy day, where we read and played cards, bridge to be
exact. We all four belong to bridge clubs at home. Bridge or any
group activities is a wonderful vehicle to meet people and make friends
for life.
On being home again, I feel refreshed and able to take on the world. My children looked after my home and animals, they are all happy, to see me get away, to be active and happy.
